  • 1993 - Won an Emmy for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Costume Design for a Variety or Music Program for: Oedipus Rex (1992)
  • 1996 - Received a National Theatre Artist Residency Program grant from The Pew Charitable Trust and Theatre Communications Group
  • 1997 - Tony Award nominee for Best Director (Musical) and Scenic Designer for Juan Darién
  • 1998 - Tony Award winner for Best Director of a Musical and Costume Designer for The Lion King
  • 1998 - Tony Award nominee for Best Original Musical Score for The Lion King
  • 1998 - Won Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Drama League awards for her direction, and myriad awards for her original costume, mask and puppet designs for The Lion King.
